1. Genesis of the idea and

Organization of the ECU

In 1987/1988 the media reported on the situation in America and England. The trend towards large consulting factories at the expense of the lone wolves or small consulting firms was clearly visible.

In autumn 1988 the initiator Dr. legal R. Rehm together with several colleagues and founded ERWUS European Association of Lawyers and Tax Advisors, Auditors and Management Consultants e. V

In the spring of 1989, they went public under the name "ERWUS" and advertised their idea.

At the 1st Euromeeting (general members' meeting) in December 1989, the organization was renamed. The association was given the name for reasons of multiculturalism

ECU European Consultants Unit, European Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Tax Advisors and Management Consultants e. V

With the help of ECU, the members can on the one hand refer to a comprehensive consulting potential, on the other hand to a correspondingly good "know-how" similar to the large Mammut consulting factories while maintaining the relationship of trust between the individual consultants on site and their clients.

Not only is the personal and individual relationship of trust between consultant and client maintained and strengthened in this way, but the local knowledge and relationships of the consultant can also be of great benefit to the client.

These criteria not only promote the consultant-client relationship, but also surpass the skills, performance and financial strength of the large Mammut consulting firms.
