14th ECU Euromeeting am

September 30, 2005 in Budapest

Industrial projects and company foundations/acquisitions require the coordinated and efficient use of lawyers, tax consultants, auditors as well as management consultants and experts.

Large-scale projects with foreigners in Hungary and by Hungarian entrepreneurs in the EU are only feasible if both local experience in Hungary and in the partner countries are available.

It is best for entrepreneurs and investors to buy these services “from a single source”.

Best of all with a multidisciplinary, international network of consultants such as the ECU- European Consultants Unit. This European association combines independent professional advice on all of the above-mentioned specialist areas in 22 European countries, USA, Southeast Asia with a focus on SMEs.

ECU holds an annual specialist congress in a European capital. In view of the enlargement of the EU, this year's congress will take place on September 30th in Budapest.

The following topics determine the event: Legal and tax aspects of company foundations in Hungary and in the EU - funding and innovative approaches to project financing (project finance, venture capital, private equity corporate finance, cohesion funds, grants, subsidies) as well as public private partnership.

Another aspect are future ways of consultant marketing and customer acquisition at SMEs in the EU (larger markets, consulting packages for multi-professional specialists).

Well-known personalities from EU bodies, the financial world, the consulting scene and business circles will give lectures. The participants come from Hungary, Balkan countries, the core countries of the EU and the candidate countries.

The members of the ECU network, the industry, associations and all persons who are interested in these topics are invited.

Press Release: Topic of the 13th Euromeeting in Berlin

Are SMEs threatened with extinction - and with them 75% of the

Jobs across Europe?

Basel II, growing bureaucracy with tax burden, with increased

BPs and controls, constant changes in tax regulations and

significant or incisive judgments of the highest courts and

last but not least, the eastward expansion with the danger of low-cost providers

the SMEs in Western Europe the will to survive.

ECU, the first pan-European organization of lawyers,

Auditors, tax and management consultants shows at

13th Euromeeting for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs

(SMEs) for example in the eastward enlargement of the EU new possibilities and

business opportunities.

"The little ones are really the big ones! Small and medium-sized companies employ around 75 percent of all workers in Europe. They are the nucleus of healthy growth, the guarantors of stability and upswing," emphasizes the founder of ECU Dr. Roland Rehm from Starnberg (near Munich).

The legal and tax advisor goes on to explain: “But mini-companies and medium-sized companies are disadvantaged in many respects. For example, tax vis-à-vis corporations. Or through restrictive lending, public tenders and a lack of government support. Many of the new tax regulations and tax reforms in Germany are unclear and intensifying, causing the administration to take measures that stifle any spirit of optimism.

Small but mighty!

For people with a high degree of personal responsibility and in manageable structures, the future of Europe lies in tough competition with the USA and Asian countries. And the European association of consultants ECU sees itself as a partner for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, known as KMU in business jargon.

He has set himself the goal of supporting the Davids against the Goliaths, asserting himself against the "legal and tax jungle" and against the emerging superiority of administration and bureaucracy. Innovations instead of bureaucracy.

Investments instead of constantly new tax burdens.

“Economy and society in Europe are changing at breakneck speed. Because mini-companies and medium-sized companies are characterized by a high degree of flexibility, they are best suited to adapt to the upheaval. But we are still a long way from uniform tax and labor law in Europe," explains the French ECU President Dipl. Ing. Hanns Schwimann.

The executive board member Dr. Roland Rehm wants to make it clear at the 13th Euro Meeting of the "European Consultants Unit" in Berlin: "Small and medium-sized companies are not the whipping boys and cash cows of politics. They save jobs and tax revenue, especially in Germany and Western Europe." .
